Pls can there be a way to "quote" other posts?

Hard to describe... But on other (lesser!) messageboards, you can cut/paste other posts into your post and they appear in different formatting.

Doesn't have to be fancy-schmancy -- one messageboard just allows you to insert a > before the text, and it indents all of it.

It makes it MUCH EASIER to see immediately that you're quoting someone else's words.

It really helps when you want to respond to a previous post, even just 2 or 3 lines of it.

Thank you Smile

I meant you put the hat symbol
^
this
before and after the chunk you wanted to italicise.

sea i really hate it when someone quotes one of my posts back to me.

Do you hate it when people bold your name too?

NetworkGuy · 13/12/2010 18:16

LOL TrillianAstra - I often bold names :)
(sorry if you hate that)

Not having a button means that you have to think about which bit you want to c&p and encourages people to restrict it to just the relevant part of a post

my lord, so it does. I hadn't realised they'd fixed it.... why haven't they fixed the strikethrough then? That's definitely still word by word

BEAUTlFUL · 13/12/2010 20:02

I didn't know you could do this!

I might be ok now that I can italicise bits of copy or maybe even go for something dramatcally different.
