Why do you persist in foisting that inane 'Twitter' box on this site? Why would want to 'tweet' when I am on here?

Most of it is HOURS old

like cold rice pudding

NotSoRampantRabbit · 20/08/2010 20:49

Agree - do not get twitter.

What is it all about?

Why would I want to 'follow' anyone unless I was actually stalking them, which would be more fun as I would buy a mac and those novelty glasses with big nose attached.

I am officially middle aged.

I also do not get all social networking.

southeastastra · 20/08/2010 20:50

i use it to stalk celebrities - it's amazing how odd some of them are and so boring some of them are

NotSoRampantRabbit · 20/08/2010 20:50

Am fond of cold rice pudding.

What is all the @ business about on twitter?

ballstoit · 20/08/2010 20:51

I am soooooooooo old and out of touch that I hadnt realised what that box was. I kept wondering why HQ were putting their emails on the site Blush.

Will have to ask god-daughter to stay to show me how it works.

cyb: did you not enjoy our bondfoodfilms riff earlier?<sulks at being called beyond irrelevant>

I can't do Twitter. I have no patience for it.

cyb · 20/08/2010 23:49

No offence Helen! I just think all those on Twitter are ON Twitter. And a little box aint going to change anything, especially as it just feels like you are eavesdropping on the end of a conversation you know nothing about

cyb · 20/08/2010 23:49

and porridge I didnt think I would like it, but its fun. Just a load of old hags spouting crap and making each other larf

Alouiseg · 20/08/2010 23:53

Just because you don't want to understand something it doesn't automatically make it wrong.

You sound very old and stuck in your ways.

Lighten up.

It's not inane, though, BLBL.

If you follow the right people it's really informative, as well as being good fun.

And as for relevance - well, again, if you follow the right people, you will get news/information sooner than you would from any TV/radio-based news site.

Alouiseg · 21/08/2010 23:33

For news it's fantastic!

JustineMumsnet · 23/08/2010 19:39

Will talk to Tech's about the customise option for Twitter - would you really rather an ad?

daftpunk · 23/08/2010 19:59

I'm on twitter, but only go on about once every 2 weeks, got bored of it very quickly. plus I don't get all the "you will get news/information sooner than you would from any TV/radio-based site."...unless you're Barack Obama who needs to get the news within 30 seconds of it happening?...lol, such an over inflated sense of importance. 95% of people on twitter talk crap, and the rest is just news.

QueuePosition3 · 23/08/2010 20:01

YOU moondog?
complaining about something new?
never

JustineMumsnet · 24/08/2010 15:42

Twitter box now relegated to chat threads only while we consider our options.
