We're helping the BBC with their preparations of the next series of Rip Off Britain. They want to expose the issues that matter most to you and expose the rip off merchants into the bargain
Can you help?

Have you -
been ripped off?
been a victim of unfair or sharp practice?
paid for something that you feel was a total waste of money?
Post on this thread or email [email protected] with details, or post your grievances to:
Rip Off Britain, PO BOX 4360, Manchester, M61 0DY.
Thanks

Council tax - ridiculous

Water companies - we moved from a 2 bed flat in London to a 4 bed house in the home counties, still just the 2 of us, same amount of showers and washing, dishwasher, water went up from £24 pm in London to around £120 per quater, £180 after baby was born!

Branded clothing, compare it with pices in the States and it's sooooo much cheaper over there, why? eg, compare timberland clothing in £ and $ - stark difference!

Electronics - my dh bought >£2k's worth of camera equipment (lenses and body, backdrops, lighting, umbrellas, etc) from the States, even after adding all the costs he saved about £400 on the cheapest uk quote, not grey imports, brought in through all the correct customs channels, couriered, etc. paid all the correct fees, and it's not even very high end stuff! Standard Nikon!

Airport parking charges, and why does it cost more to pick up/deliver a rental car to an airport? I always feel like I'm breathing money around airports/airlines!

Weddings! Why is everything assosciated with a wedding sooooo much more expensive than if quoted for a birthday lunch or something. It's the same stuff, same amount of work, same space occupied, why the inflated price?

Rant over, thanks!
