DD (17 mo) is currently using ds1's bag and he wants it back! Plus I want something girly but not HSM/barbie etc for her, I've waited 6 years to buy a girly bag and can't find anything (pout). Preferably purple. The little life backpacks are cute but too small IMO for change of clothes/nappies/wipes. Any ideas under a tenner?

This is who I bought ds2's preschool bag from. Ds1 and Dd also have them as their PE bags so they're very roomy.

She has loads of fabrics and will take orders via email and paypal invoice if you don't want to sign up to the site.

stealthsquiggle · 17/03/2010 23:20

I make them . DD has more bags than she knows what to do with - but I did also get one from some sale or other which is plain red with her name printed on.

If you have a sewing machine then bags are dead easy.

Actually I have just looked at Olihan's link. Those are a bargain.

Olihan · 17/03/2010 23:24

I have a sewing machine but I'm lazy and I figure that it would probably cost me £4 to make them myself anyway so I'm saving myself the stress.

AQ, she also does them really fast, I think she made and posted ds2's the day after I ordered it.

Olihan · 17/03/2010 23:26

Missed a at the end of the first sentence!

stealthsquiggle · 17/03/2010 23:26

It would indeed cost you at least as much if not more, Olihan (and would for me were it not for the entirely reasonable huge trunk of hoarded fabric I have)

MrsBadger · 17/03/2010 23:27

the personalised ones top right here are bargainous too and if you have short names you may fit first abd surname on

Olihan · 17/03/2010 23:28

Exactly, I'm being economical (and saving money with which to buy more cake things).

I bet AQ ends up buying one for each of her dcs.........

stealthsquiggle · 17/03/2010 23:37

Also I like doing it - when my DC go to parties they take presents in personalised fabric bags - which saves me a fortune because the present itself can be smaller/cheaper (or so I convince myself ). DS's friends who are girls get the best ones because I get carried away with the fun of making more 'girly' bags and I know they value and keep them. The enjoyment wears off slightly at making 30 identical bags as party bags for DS's party, though.

lilmissmummy · 17/03/2010 23:42

I bought my little one the jemima puddle duck bag from this site a couple of years back. If thats any help. Now my friend makes the bags for my dd.

piprabbit · 17/03/2010 23:47

Tesco have been doing a purple drawstring PE bag with a large pink flower on it - about 6pounds I think. It has a front-zip pocket on it too.

MiniMousse · 18/03/2010 00:05

dd's nursery bag is a see-thru dora the explorer swimming bag from clarks. it was about 7 quid, and is fab as you can easily see the contents, and can sling it over your shoulder. its also nice and lightweight.

accessorizequeen · 18/03/2010 08:43

I think the PE-type bags are very bargainous and lovely BUT didn't mention I'd like a backpack-style one for her as the boys all have one of those. And I want them to put their own bags on (ds2 wears his) & have a pocket for a drink. Useful for days out too.
They do boring school ones for PE, blue plastic, don't know if any of the kids have fabric ones otherwise would buy them from that link Oli when the time comes for ds2/dt's. Ooh I get to meet your ds soon and you!

Billabong ones quite nice MrsB but perhaps too big for her. Would rather avoid characters if poss. Love the cath kidston ones they are perfect, just the price. Will go look for one on ebay. Thanks all!
