Swimseats or aid's for 6month old

We are off to Oasis in a few weeks and I was wondering whether to get a swimseat or something for my baby. Obviously I'm not intending to let go of her in the water, I just thought she might enjoy sitting in the seat rather than me holding her close to me. Has anyone tried a swimseat or anything like it ?

my two both loved the floaties swimseat - keeps them nicely raised out of the water and they can kick away to their hearts content while grinning madly at you. thoroughly recommend!

My two weren't that bothered about the floaties seat, they liked to be held and thrown about. Ds who is number two has always worn armbands (baby ones from boots) so he could bob in the water just holding my hand and loved it.

We have used the float seat from Boots. Dd (then 5 months) really enjoyed being in it and being able to look around at everyone while still kicking away. For us as first time parents it gave us good peace of mind.

I've used a swim seat for both of mine. DS2 is 8 months old so is still using it. They've both loved it! It also gives me a breather from holding them all the time, & means that I can stay in the pool for longer with them. I do also take him out of it & hold him in the water, so he gets the best of both worlds!

We used the Floaties seat for ds when he was 6 months. He loved it and surprisingly soon realised that he could actually turn around to face where he wanted to go.

Also, the kiddies area of the pool was such a depth that he could just touch the bottom when in the seat so he also quickly realised he could 'walk' for the first time!

He would get bored of the seat after a while, though and want to be taken out and held in the water.

I recommend it.

Is the floaties one the yellow one ? If so, dd loved it.

we used a swim seat for dd - think it was a boots one from memory - although she was almost 8 months old - quite tiny with low muscle tone - it was brilliant and she loved it - feeling free - kicking around

DD loved her swimseat but after a few trips to the pool used to haul herself out so she was lying in a swimming position and only had her ankles and feet in the water. She's then doggy-paddle with the seat over her calves. She started doing this when she began crawling (around 5 months) so if your dd is crawling watch out!

another one who grinned madly - we used the floaties one. DS was absolutely thrilled to be upright looking at mummy.
