How long do Dyson's normally last?

It ain't sucking things up from the main hoover part (just the hose - which is also broken).

DH is taking it apart now, but just wondering how long they normally "live" anyway...

I've had mine for about 9-10 years and it shows, will get a service when I can scrape together the cash. Has been through many house improvements, dogs, cats (9 at one point) and is currently coping with our 5dcs. Dh hates it for some irrational reason (bought pre-dh) and always has done.

Shop I bought it from told me I would be better off buying a Henry, selling at half the price of the Dyson then.

11 years. No service so far.

we've had ours for >3 years and it's still going strong. Gets used several times a day every single day and we've never had any trouble [touch wood]
