If you want a NZ made Mountain Buggy - best buy one now

The brand is now owned by Phil and Ted and they will be made in China.

The 45 workers who made them have been retrenched (no redundancy payments as Phil and Ted did not buy the workers - just the brand - the manufacturer is in receivership).

To me it's just not a Mountain Buggy if it's not made in NZ. I blame them faffing around making pink "designer" ones.

Very disappointing!

Tis the way of the world unfortunately. I bought one of the last NZ made Triang trikes (which is in the roof space because the thing is immaculate and I'm saving it for grandchildren) and I bulk bought Buzzy Bees because someone mentioned they would be made in China soon.

Clothing brands that used to be made here, like Pumpkin Patch and Glassons and Verge now say "designed in NZ, Made in China" on the label.
