old maclaren quest - where's the bloody brake??

I've just bought this from ebay, DH unwrapped parcel and told me it has no brake. I replied (with some level of scorn) of course it has a brake, all pushchairs have brakes.

I am now looking at the damn thing and cannot see how the brake works... It has small black nobbles above the back wheels, but they don't appear to move in any direction...

Anybody got a similar one? Help??!

You kick it sideways and it latches into the gaps inside the wheels.

That's the theory.

In practice you hold onto it or park it on a flat surface...

aaah yes, I see what you mean... although I won't try that again without shoes on...

Maybe DH will forget to quiz me on whether he was right or not...

It also used to hurt my knees putting that brake on!
