Gorgeous white bedroom furniture that doesn't cost the earth

We are going to move dd into our second double bedroom, out of the box room (although she has spent about three nights in there in her entire two year existence), and are looking for some gorgeous bedroom furniture. I love the Aspace stuff, but it's just so expensive.

I'd really like a vintage-type feel, definitely white, but the bed has to be a double.

Has anyone seen anything anywhere? Where the chest of drawers isn't £1000?

Try your nearest Salvation Army furniture store,Pinkjenny, then paint it with an eggshell white paint.

We went for a local firm which used a North Devon based manufacturer Devonshire Pine they do lovely stuff painted and you can order beds in single double etc.

I looked at Aspace, white company etc all the childrens furniture companies and tbh thought that this was the best value for money. If you're not local to me it may be worth googling local pine bedroom furniture manufacturers.

(Oh and beware of internet sales from the far east, I had furniture turn up that was appaling (dovetailed joints (yeah the front not the back ) poor paint job etc)

Might this chest be any good? They have smaller ones too but no bed.

We mixed together stuff we already had with stuff from junk shops and painted it all white.

I think that this is nice if you want a quicker option. I think they have a wardrobe and bed too.

Ditto GentleOtter. It's what we've done with ds's room and it all looks gorgeous
