Range cookers, are ones from the budget end of the market a waste of time?

I do cook a lot.

we've got a small kitchen and have a range type cooker (6 rings, two ovens, a grill). it's 1000mm rather than the larger 1200mm type though.

our didn't cost a lot either. it's dual fuel and was about £700 (althoug it is ex display)
