Where to buy boys' sandals/ summery shoes in wide fittings

I cannot find summer shoes/ sandals for 14 mo ds- any ideas?
I went to Brantano today and they measured him at 4H but said they don't stock H fittings so to try 4.5G Doodles instead but even these didn't fit.
After this we tried a combination of different styles in 4 and 5 sizes but nothing would go on his foot . He seems to have a fairly high instep as well as chubby little feet
I would just like something lightweight that he can run around the garden in so even tried Ebay with no success either.. I'd rather not spend a fortune as he still has fairly new leather 'shoes'.
Does anybody have any suggestions?

I bought some (about £9 I think) sandals for my 22 month DS in Sainsburys. They velcro closed over the toes as well as around the ankle, so they might fit your DS' wider foot?

Thanks- I hadn't thought of Sainsburys, might try there (Matalan, Asda and Tesco were no use and there's no Next nearby). I did try a couple of pairs with double straps today but maybe a different brand would work.

Also, on the Clarks website, they have these in a 4H. They aren't sandals as such, but are canvas so should be fairly cool. You should be able to order them to be sent to your local branch to try on.

Thanks for that. I haven't actually been into the local Clarks for various reasons but I think I might have to brave it again. I shall maybe try Sainsburys first!

i've got some 4.5g clarks leather sandals on ebay atm?

ChasingSquirrels · 23/04/2009 20:58

Shoe Zone have always had ones that fitted my wide footed boy.

ChasingSquirrels · 23/04/2009 20:59

although they don't have the pictures of most of them atm.

Thanks again. I did try some 4.5G sandals on and they wouldn't go on his foot.
I tried Sainsburys today and they sell Doodle-esque shoes for £5. I didn't think for a second that they'd fit but amazingly they did. They had size 4 and 5 but the 5 was huge- 4 fits perfectly and is just as good as any pair of Doodles I've bought in the past! They had some sandals as well but ds wouldn't even attempt to walk in them for some reason.
I'll definitely have a look in Shoe Zone next time I'm in town- I'm sure we have one.
