After all the horror stories about TwoLeftFeet and Bambino Direct I meant to recommend the one we used, Lullabys, but having a newborn meant I just forgot. However, we had to ring them a few days ago as we were removing the carrycot and installing the seat part of our travel system, and couldn't work out how to fit the raincover - and they were so fab, it reminded me.
They have:
~ been understanding when my credit card was refused as too overloaded, and then when I made my DS call them back to cancel his debit card payment in favour of his credit card, so we had consumer protection (they even said we were being sensible in the current economic climate, all approvingly, despite this being the third time of paying).
~ Told me not to buy a matching changing bag/sleeping bag for the carrycot, as both were a waste of money - just to use the cosytoes for both, and buy any bag I liked.
~ Altered the colour for us, and the delivery date, at short notice - they sent the delivery the day after we called to alter it (baby arrived early). And most online discounters say this item has a 6 week lead time!
~ Talked us through setting the system up on the phone, slowly and patiently, at their expense as it's a freephone number.
When we couldn't fit the raincover this time, they immediately explained that the instructions hadn't been reprinted to match the new design, and to just "give it some welly" with the added reassurance that if it did tear, they'd courier us a new one immediately. (It didn't. They were right.)
They also told us the item was guaranteed for absolutely everything for two years, and to call if we had any problems at all. They are ace. And, given they offer significant discounts on shop prices, I figured I'd recommend them here & in Pregnancy, because frankly we stumbled on them by chance, just as so many did the horror versions.
I appreciate we sound gormless from all of the above, but what the hell, our incompetence at least proved their mettle.
