desperate - please help! Searching for discontinued dummies

My son will only take the Tommee Tippee closer to nature dummies. The ones he uses have now been discontinued and we are down to 4. It really helps his reflux and I have spent a small fortune trying out other dummies to no avail. Does anyone have any or know where I can get them. Please help, they really offer us all respite when he is having a bad reflux attack.

Knitter - i'm not really bothered which size. Dd is using the 0-6month ones although she is a bit older, so any would be appreciated. I can't imaging it makes much difference

Scifinerd · 22/11/2008 22:49

better picture I have never posted so much on one thread!

I have two (blue & green, sucked once) poss 6month if anyone wants them. My two have vital baby 'plugs' they have the same shaped teat at the CTN ones. Alas you can only get them at John Lewis near us.

CJMommy · 23/11/2008 11:40

There is no difference in the sizes....the 6-18 months just have a picture on them.

Just a little update. This is the email I recieved from Tommee Tippee.

Thank you for your message.

We have heard from many parents concerned that we have discontinued the old style Closer to Nature Soft Rim Orthodontic Soothers, and are really sorry for the problems this has caused. We would like to explain the reason for this.

We have had manufacturing problems with this dummy which have forced us to stop production - for design reasons, NOT safety, and much to our disappointment.

Ideally we would have liked to keep the old style dummy in the range alongside our new range of Closer to Nature Pure and Cair soothers, designed by a paediatric dentist to help promote healthy oral development. We know how popular the old design is, and understand the difficulties in trying to persuade a baby to change to a new and unfamiliar product. Unfortunately this has not been possible.

We put all our remaining stocks on sale on our website, but demand has been very high, and we have completely sold out.

The closest alternative we have been able to source is the Natural Flex Cherry Soother. However, the teat is a slightly different shape and includes massage dimples, and therefore we can?t guarantee that it will suit all babies. It will be available from our website by the end of October, at a reduced price in recognition of the delivery costs.

We realise that this situation has created difficulties for many parents, but hope that you will accept our apologies and understand that it is not something we wanted to do, but is beyond our control.

I think I have the 2 I bought for dd, should be in a bag with the variety of bottles she wouldn't use either . They are used but only a couple of sucks as the little bugger doesn't like dummies. I sterilised them to within an inch of their lives if that's any help! PFB, me? Will have a look in a bit.

NellieTheEllie · 24/11/2008 20:39

Eyeballs that would be great! (Right now I am really wishing that Dd didn't like dummies!!)
Scifinerd email address is earlier on in the thread - she rather kindly offered to be the 'distribution centre' to share out the donations
thanks again.

Am just bumping this in case anyone has any left.
I emailed TT yesterday and got the same response.
I told them they should find a way of selling them again because people on ebay were making a fortune and they could double their profits overnight

charl1981 · 11/12/2008 16:29

I have some, imported, due to land at the end of dec, only 10 packs though and i need some for my DD, if anyone needs some email me at foxiec @ hotmail . co . uk without the spaces and i'll let you have them, i dont want to charge but they cost me 11 euros a pack and 22 euros for the shipping so i'll have to, i dont want you to have to pay the £30 a pakc they are asking on ebay though so i'll work out how much they are at the exchange rate and all that and let you know by email IF you are interested.
