anyone got experience of new goldfish?

we got some yesterday and they seem VERY timid

they are groupoed together in the corner not doing anyhting unless left alone for ages

they seem to quite like the dark - rushed into their corner when we opened the curtains this morning

tank has a light but they just go berserk, baging into the glass so we haven't had it on since yesterday

help

do they need therapy??

What will you do if we say YES, THEY NEED THERAPY.... (not light therapy, obviously)

Have you used any treatments in the water?

If not there are a few good ones that will calm them.

TBH lights in the tank only make the algae grow quicker but they do look nice with them in.

I'm sure they'll be ok in a few days.

yes, we put conditioner stuff in the water on thursday - bought the fish on sunday.

they will have to get used the light cos it cost 14 quid. we have a filter in there too and that doesn't seem to impress them either.

do you think we should leave the light off for a while or just go for it and put it on?

Stick it on.

Did they have one in the tank they were in? Just switch it off at night.

no there wasn't a light on in the shop..will put it on

don't worry AQ they'll get used to their new surroundings soon... LOL imagine how you'd feel if someone dragged you out of your nice, comfortable home and plonked you into a new one with no explaination
