so does everyone have a techno because it is the best buggy ever, or is it just because everyone else has one?

I went to a birthday party today and there were 8 (i counted them) grey maclaren techno xt lined outside the door, including mine.

it is a great buggy but as i am looking to replace it i am wondering whether it is the best- or are we missing a trick? i would love something that ticks all the techno boxes, but is a bit different... anyone has any recommendations?

It's Ok, but I found it tipped a lot - the Babydan one is meant to be far, far better in terms of use, if a little less stylish.

That's the only trick you're missing afaik!

I want a babydan but have about 12 buggies already, can't justify another 50 quid.

they are bringing them out in black in January I believe.

Which mac is the one with height adjustable handles?

I am looking to get a mac in Jan when DS is 6 months for in the car, I love my Mothercare my3 for walking everywhere (lots of offroading) but want something that doesn't take up my entire car boot.

We need adjustable handles as my SIL has a chicco pushchair and I get a bad back pushing it (am 6'1 in flats) so need to be able to extend handles

Thanks

the techno XT & classic both do and I think the XLR has too. Basically the ones with the rubber rather than foam handles.

im 4ft 11 and found it to high and I also wanted something different..everyone seemed to rate them BUT the sales woman at our local baby/pram shop didn't rate them..

I have just got a m&p luna, which imo is a buggy and ticks all the boxes and in fact is better than buggies such as the techno..

Break the mould

I've got a Maclaren Triumph and it's rubbish - the back ripped after I'd been using it for about 3 weeks, and I'm hoping it will hold out until dd (2.4) grows out of it, at which point I will unceremoniously chuck it in the bin. The brakes have never worked either.

I know the Techno is a bit more expensive than the Triumph, and therefore is probably much better, but I'd never buy one simply because my Triumph was so shite.

I like the idea of serried ranks of Technos though. A bit like the rows and rows of Bugaboos that hang around at Greenwich Cinema during the mother and baby films on a Friday morning (my crappy Mothercare travel system stood out like a sore thumb).

oh when i was looking for the silver cross pop i came across the silver cross dazzle- it looks great!!! anyone any experience of that one???

botbot- know what you mean. when dd1 was born we lived in islington and i was the only one in both ante and post natal groups without a (red) bugaboo!

i also have a triumph- my dad kicked it once because he couldn't figure out the folding mechanism and the brakes are now hanging lose on the sides. (though i think in this instance it's my dad who's to blame not maclaren!)

I looovveee the dazzle, but have just sold mine..

Im only 4ft 11in and as will most sc prams its to high for me.

If you are a bit taller it will be fine. It is a lovely pram, easy and nice to push and so eyecatching.

carrielou2007 · 09/11/2008 09:56

The dazzle is fab, I would not put a new baby in the carrycot though, too plasticky but great for my tall tall 22 month old. Forgot to say thanks for the parasol and stuff shhhh!!!

I nearly sold my bugaboo when I saw one of the celebs who had one but it is such a good pram, really worth every single penny (and you don't see many in the backwater I live in!!)

hi carrielou, glad it arrived and all ok . x
