Phil & Teds Sport (or other buggy) and Maxi Cosi car seat

Hi

I am thinking about buying a Phil & Ted Sports (the newborn lies flat) for when DC2 comes along (DD1 will be 26 months then).

Does anyone know whether i can use a Maxi Cosi car seat for my newborn AND still have my DD1 sitting in the buggy? the research i've done so far seems to say you can only use the Maxi Cosi with the buggy in 1 seat mode?

Or if not, is there another double buggy (pref tandem but open to suggestions) that can fit the maxi cosi and also have a toddler sitting in it?

Thanks

do you have it already or are you ordering it? if you have already request the guards on link but if not it is far, far better to insist the new frame

littleduck, do you know when the new chassis started being produced?

UmSami · 02/11/2008 11:02

Have it but only picked it up yesterday, bought it on thurs...mothercare here have 18 days returns policy so still ok. Still boxed...
Prod date nov 07 [roll eyes at the speed things move here]...guessing its old chassis...I can hope they may have new stock,,,wheni mentioned about the clips that were released to them they just looked confused!
Sorry bit of a thread hijack going on!

i bought one in april/may which has old chassis

not sure how tricky it would be difficult to get a newer one but having had both, i would say the newer one is far improved

Munteria

See on another that you are in Putney and due in Feb- me too! Lulliputs in Battersea are closing their store and if you buy for the shop (rather than online) get 20% of all the prams. It was in there taht the man was def more pro the Sport.

munteria · 03/11/2008 14:52

thanks UmSami - i will go for the sport

jlh69 - how weird! how old will your DC1 be in February when the new one arrives? mine (girl) will be 26 months.

i think i may wait until after Xmas to but the Sport to see if it goes down in price at all in the sales, though may check out Lulliputs to see what deals they have

My friend bought a P&T for her first baby - what foresight she had to avoid all the double buggy trauma for her next one!

DD will only be 18 months in Feb- eek!
Lilliputs shuts in mid Dec I think.
Was thinking of waiting a bit for sales too but DD came a month early and I didn't have the pram so trying to be a bit more organised this time in case we get another early arrival..

munteria · 04/11/2008 10:04

crikey thats close!

i know its a bit late, but just incase some one else reads this on their travels do not buy a V2 sport, phil and teds are worst for customer service once 1 year warranty has run out, I had to have all fabrics replaced under warranty some parts more then once and the reflective piping the reflective stuff started peeling off just as the warranty was out (but remember my covers were less then a year old after replacement) and it is unsafe for baby but phil and teds refuse to acknowledge this and replace or refund and I am left with an unsafe buggy for the last year or so as I can not afford to spend that sort of money again just to throw this one out. very unhappy.
