Marble Run - a few questions...

I keep seeing this mentioned as a top present and was wondering what age it's best for?

Anyone not like it?

We got one from a charity shop for DD1. We were meant to be furniture hunting not toy buying. It's bloody annoying. DD1 (5) cannot put it together herself and leaves the marbles everywhere.
