double buggy or not dilemma....

Number 2 is on the way, and i can't decide between the following options for number 2 and DD1, who will be 2 when the baby arrives:

  • buy a 'side by side' double bugggy
  • buy a 'one behind the other' double buggy (seems a bit unfair on the child who can't see at the back, and I have visions of the one in front being kicked!)
  • buy one of those clip on buggy pods
  • buy a buggyboard
  • buy a buggy board with a seat
  • make her walk! (although tis a mile to our village shop!)

Has anyone got any advice? Anyone gone for one of these options and glad they did/wish they hadn't?

And i though choosing a buggy was bad enough the first time round!!

Thanks xx

I love your girls names Dizzy. I love Dylan for a girl.

Have you okayed it with your DH about number 4?

House will become a museum, the children will have to sit on the sofa all day with white gloves on...

DH absolutely says its ok for number 4 but it won't be with him

nicola - I loved gracie but mine came out 10lb4, 11lb1 and 9lb14 in that order so none of them were going to be a 'grace'

lol dizzy my dh is the same!!! I would love another, but we don't have room and he says he's too knackered luka still doesn't sleep thru at 14m phew big babies eh? mine were between 7lb6oz and 8lb6oz. I hope he changes his mind!

dizzydixies · 27/09/2008 21:43

mine's the same, says he can barely cope with the 3 we have so am not going to push it

dd3 is only 8wks old after all

nicolamumof3 · 27/09/2008 21:46

maybe thats why im broody then my 'baby' isn't a baby anymore he's 14m old now!!

Jaysus Dizzy, big babies all right - 11lb 1oz

DD1 is a Grace and she is far from graceful. She should have been called Ayatollah. Although only 7lb born. DD2 was 8lb 8oz but she is sooo petite now. Tiny features.

DH said after DD1 - no more, can only cope with 1. After DD2 he said - definitely no more, can hardly cope with 2. God help him when DD3 comes along. He idolises his girls though, will move heaven and earth for them. DD2 has him wrapped around her little finger.

At 2, I think you'll def need a double of some kind (maybe also a buggyboard for the buggy to go in the car for shopping and stuff).
I only have 3mths experience of 2 and I got a Phil & Teds which was fab until now when baby no longer happy underneath and not old enough for rear seat yet. It will be 3 mths til she can go in tandem mode. Used the buggy and buggyboard for a couple of weeks and my back is wrecked so have now bought a second hand mountain buggy and it is now in danger of becoming my favourite. However it is much wider than the p&t and MASSIVE in the car boot - I wouldn't take it anywhere in the car.
It is lovely and comfy for both kids though and they love it. Sorry I can't give a definitive answer - still learning myself!

Thankyou everyone! Looks like a double buggy is the way forward, and possibly a buggyboard as well for shorter journeys where the aim is to get the new baby to sleep! We have narrow doors so no chance of getting a double inside in one piece!

P&T best for narrow doors!
