Those umbrellas/parasols which attach to the pushchair leaving you hands free: Do they actually shield you from RAIN or just sun? and, are they any good?

There's no way I can push this pushchair in the rain and carry an umbrella, it's really awkward.

babyjjbaby - how did it break? Would you have another buggy brolly one?

I wear a waterproof coat and can't see as the hood is too big so would like an umbrella.

I thought buggy brolly were the only ones who sold them but I haven't really looked.

Try the Hands Free Brolly! It is different to buggy brolly and the brolly comes off so you can carry it as an ordinary brolly too. I have noticed on their website they have just introduced a strong one and it has a wide opening clip and alsoan extension post so it can go really tall

I have a buggy brolly and it's ok. I actually used it more in the Summer to shield me from the sun than I use it for rain. It wobbles quite a bit and isn't height adjustable but is better than nothing!! I remember seeing a similar umbrella years ago and they were charging £50 - definitely wouldn't spend that much on one!!
