New to selling on Vinted - any tips?

I’m looking to sell some old clothes and shoes which unsurprisingly no longer fit after 2 babies in 2 years! Never used Vinted before. The whole
process of taking pictures and setting up ads seems straightforward but I was wondering if there are any tips / tricks to get the most out of the platform. For example, how does the bundles option work and is there something I should be doing to make my ads stand out more? Is it better / easier to sell things at an old fashioned car boot sale?

Take photos in good daylight

If you are selling something like a coat, a photo of the cuffs and zip can help to show how badly worn the item is

Make sure you take clear photos including a close up of the Size and brand label.

Set up a discount for purchase of multiple items

Don’t say “only worn once” in the description if the item has clearly been washed 17 times! It is very annoying.

The bundles discount option is just something you can turn on or off in your settings. If it’s on, you can set the discounts that people will get if they buy 2, 3 or 5 of your items all together as one bundle purchase. I leave it turned on, but I’ve only ever actually sold one bundle of items. All my other sales have been individual.

In terms of making your listings stand out, make sure you fill out all the details possible so that your items are found when people search. Include the actual size in the listing title and description, as well as an image of the label.

If you have a lot of items to sell, rather than list them all at once, you can upload 3 or more items each day. That way Vinted sees your account as active and it can mean your items are shown higher up the search results for people browsing.

I haven’t done a car boot sale, but the benefit for selling on Vinted for me is that it’s quite low effort. I live near to drop off points for all the major couriers so when I make a sale it’s easy for me to send.

I agree with the tips that PPs have given. I would say take lots of photos, in daylight on a plain background. Make sure you take a photo of the composition label, and any flaws (bobbling etc).

For tops, jumpers and dresses, give the pit to pit and length measurements (take a photo of the measuring tape across the item) - it's quick to do when you're taking the other photos. If you don't you'll get messages asking for measurements!
