Tell me your Aldi must haves/avoids

Normally have Tesco delivery because convenience...
Had a look around the newish Aldi today and I'm going to give it a go for next week's shopping.
Are there any 'this is excellent' or 'avoid this' things that you want to tell me about?
Shopping for 2x secondary kids (who have lunchboxes). 1x vegetarian. 1x wheat free if that info is useful.
Work on the assumption that I mostly cook stuff, e.g. make the chicken pie filling, but buy the pastry kind of idea (if that makes sense).

I think the poster was saying that the things they listed (I.e. their recommendations) may not be what a ‘cook from scratch’ person would be interested in. They weren’t saying don’t go to Aldi if you like cooking properly.

I went to Aldi the other day and saw 'proper' Weetabix for £3.99 and Aldi's version Wheat Bisks for £1.99. Same ingredients, same size - even a pretty identical box! Why would people buy the ones that cost twice as much?
Similar with frozen peas. They had Birdseye ones for twice the price of Aldi's own. They're all peas!

I'm gluten free, and need to avoid things labelled as may contain. There's loads of things I can't eat from Aldi, most of it may contain gluten/wheat, however it'll depend on how wheat free your person needs to be.
The chicken tempura from the fridge is safe, and delicious.
Aldi don't have a free from section, unless there's something in the middle aisle. So you won't get wheat free pasta/bread/biscuits routinely.

I’ve got half an organic cucumber two weeks old in the fridge still fresh, so I too disagree abiut their F & V you may have an unlucky store.

@OP the frozen Plant Menu stuff is nice, I’ve not tried everything in the range but they’ve got a good varied selection

the skin on fries are exceptional (frz)
cereal (granola & Muesli)
squeezy honey I like the Spanish forest one
chilled deserts
brilliant cheese selection, regional UK and European, they sell buffalo mozzarella and barrel aged feta too. The strength 7 vintage cheddar is very good
Almat laundry products
cleaning products, kitchen roll etc

imdo t think I’ve ever had anything memorably duff, I need to to an ocassional shop elsewhere to get things like seed ryvita, stokes ketchup and earl grey tea that I can’t get in there but that’s about it

Double pack of smoked bacon. Its cut thicker and very tasty.

I buy Lidl Boxes. They are the same as Weetabix. Teens love them. Eldest teen just went to uni last September and very pleased as halls only about 500 metres from a large Aldi.

The West Country Cornish sea salt block butter is divine and it’s not Rock hard even at room temperature.
