Help, please!
What can I wear with this jacket to a special daytime celebration event?
I'm in my 60's, 5'4" and a size 14... with no boob's after a double mastectomy and a bit of a bhudda belly definitely an apple shape. I already have the jacket.

I would go and watch lots of Trinny clothes vids. She's brilliant at pulling outfits together using statement pieces. I'll see if I can find one that might help.

Edited to add link. Scroll on to minute 12.

I know that people are love/hate with AI, but I asked for an outfit with Massimo Dutti vibes using your jacket and it came up with this, which I love!

I also like it over the slip skirt!

It's beautiful jacket. I would definitely wear it with trousers, whichever shape suits you best and wear it with boots or shoes that give you a bit of a lift, not flats.

It’s lovely and those AI ideas are great. I’d never think to put cream with it but it looks really good

Lovely jacket! I'd go with a longish black dress, fairly unfancy - the sleek and simple type

Will do, thanks for the link!

If only I were that slim and with such lovely long legs! I'm a novice when it comes to AI but thank you for the ideas.

Ooo this is nice, and if you scroll down you can see it in pale blue or a rich (blue toned) red, any of the three would look stunning in different ways.

I vote the beautiful jacket with cream trousers/top underneath

minnowonthesay · 06/09/2026 19:13

I think it would look good with cropped cigarette pants and a skimming sleeveless top untucked. Flat pointy shoes. Big pearl earrrings.

I think the Coast skirt is the wrong shape with that jacket as it has a longer line, the trousers or slip skirt work better.

What's the jacket made of? Is it silk or cotton? Is it quite structured?

I thought skirt. This M&S one comes in petrol or black. I'd be inclined to try the petrol to go towards bright rather than dark.

The jacket is very fine cashmere and silk and it is quite structured. The skirt in petrol is an amazing colour. Thank you.
