Birth gift ideas: silver motherhood bracelet or a traditional locket/ mama necklace?

Been looking for a sentimental gift to celebrate birth of my daughter. I want something sophisticated and a bit different to the norm. I think these Vivi Coo silver bracelets are a bit different, one has stork, one says mama and the other has a tribal symbol for motherhood, and they can be engraved inside, or do I go with a more traditional necklace like the Abott Lion locket below? or anyone know any other brands to look at too that do motherhood jewellery?

There was a long time (like, years) after birth I didn't wear necklaces (other than silicone teething ones) because baby would grab /pull at them. So if you're looking for something immediate I'd go for a bracelet. Otherwise I like the mama necklace.

Another thing I've seen which is sweet is people wearing their child's initial on a chain, can also add more initials if you have further children 🥰

Sorry, I dislike ‘Mama’ unless you are Spanish or Italian. We don’t say Mama in English speaking countries, it sounds really naff.

Mama was used in the UK widely for a long time (alongside Papa), so it's not true that it's only a European thing. There's also been a huge rise in using it again in the last 15-20 years. Though, as yet haven't heard anyone trying to bring back Papa.

I prefer the initial letters idea that the pp suggested. A bit more subtle. But isn’t the arrival of a baby a big enough souvenir?

I don't like any of those, sorry, but especially not the bangles and I agree about babies grabbing at chains. My choice would be stacking rings with baby's birthstone and yours and their father's, then you can add to them if you have more children. https://www.alisonmoore.co.uk/products/amethyst-andromeda-ring-february-birthstone
