Why are Vinted undervaluing?

I’ve just uploaded a jacket, great condition. Vinted matched the image with others the same showing the price as £7. I put mine on at this price. It sold immediately. I then clicked on the ‘similar’ tab and it showed the same jacket at £40!! Several of them! When I searched for the £7 images I was shown earlier there was nothing.
What is this about?

But the point being Vinted is deliberately steering a seller towards thinking their item is worth less than it is.

try not to be distracted by the cancelling of the order issue. That’s a symptom not the problem the OP wishes to discuss

i saw this too as a new seller. Flogging a load of dresses which new were £60-£80. The listing process shows you similar sold prices…..or are they? I can’t find any of the same dresses listed for the £7-8 Vinted is suggesting. They’re all about £20, which is what I’d expect. And although people make and accept offers I’m not sure all the £20 dresses are actually selling for £7. In fact the ones I favourited sold very quickly which suggests to me they actually are achieving £20 ish instead of the £7 suggested.

I think we’re being deliberately misled and that’s the point the poster is making.

Airbnb used to suggest prices for the host that were really low too. Possibly they want to keep their “bargain” status.
