Going to grandparents for summer ( for approx 5 - 6 weeks). DD 2.4 here sleeps in cotbed still with sides up as she throws herself to the sides. Her cot in the Uk is too small now and am looking for suggestions. Travel cots seem just short approm 1m and will need to get a mattress as well for that length of time.
Single beds at gps not option as they are very high ( she cant climb up on them ). Storage space is limited as it will need to be dismantled and fit through a space 1mx1.5m( and I need to plead for more roof space!!). Had thought about single mattress on the floor but then nowhere to store the base whilst in use !
ready beds ??? But for that length of time its not a sleepover. Ahhh am stuck . Anybody have any ideas Thanks

put mattress from too-high single bed on floor every night and store on base during day?

or get a step and a bedrail and use the single bed as it is.

yes I'm with MrsB - take the mattress off and put it on the floor to sleep on

however how high are we talking? are we talking cabin-style bed at 4 feet off the ground or a normal single bed?

if the latter yes, bedrail. You can get travel ones

I've just said exactly the same as MrsBadger, haven't I? Only with more words

I would go for the single bed option. Don't forget that children's climbing ability increases really fast and she will probably able to climb onto it sooner than you think. If you can't find a bedrail then cushions on the floor will prevent her hurting herself when she falls

Thanks - At Christmas when she went to get off it ( bum/ legs first) she couldn't touch the floor and sort of hung off the covers and they sort of slid down with her ! They have a storage drawer underneath which bumps them up a bit.
She has a step there as g'pa made her one so she could reach the sink but it became a table for her tea set !
Will look for bedrails - probably a cheaper option.

She is probably at least 2 inches taller than she was at christmas- makes a big difference, she will be even taller come the summer
