Going into London for an event my daughter is attending (near Baker Street) this Sunday, I’m dropping her off at 9 and then don’t have to go back until 12.30. I was super excited to have some time to myself in the city (only ever go on kids day trips) to get a coffee then mooch round the shops but have just googled and it seems most department stores and clothes shops on Oxford Street etc don’t open until 12 on Sunday. Boo! Are there any that are open earlier like 10?

All the big shops will be bound by Sunday trading /6 hour rule which is why they open later.
But I've seen that markets seem to be open earlier / longer. Covent Garden arts and crafts market , Portobello and Spitalfields will all be open at 10am if any of those are convenient or of interest.

I’d get the tube to Westminster and wander along the Thames and the landmarks.

Will be lovely weather Sunday and should be cooler by the water!

Camden Market if the expensive tat is your thing to look at, see what all the fuss is about.

Gail's bakery and Paul bakery on baker street are open, both lovely, then a 15 min walk up to camden market opens 10am, it's not as tatty as it used to be and being on the river is nice, or walk up to regents park and relax.
