Hello all

we are off on hols 2nd June with DS 4, and DD 2yrs. Corfu, I hear, has a very low crime rate, so Im not overly worried that anything untoward will happen. However, it would be good if they did wander off and were found, that they had an Id band or bracelet saying where they were staying and a phone number.

I doubt we will take our mobiles with us (cos we dont know if it would be very expensive and not got our act together to enquire), so it would be the number of the resort.... I guess.

Any idea ladies? TIA

GLTC has got them - I've just been reading their catalogue and I saw them in it.
They are wrist bands that you write details inside.

Boots do them.

Wolfgirl · 22/05/2008 16:37

PC, yes I have the Boots ones, but they are tiny - they just about fit round my DDs wrist, and she is quite petitte - I think.

Will check out the gltc ones. thanks for link

Tags are a good idea ( I used to think only neglegant parent needed them, untill I had scamps of my own )

I've heard so many horror stories about that part of the world, if they're blond, keep your DC's extra close.

Literally just checked out and have bought ds and dd1 the dog tags and dd2 thwe wrist bands

Surfermum · 22/05/2008 17:01

I used one of those rubber charity bracelets.

Nemoandthefishes · 22/05/2008 17:03

do agree the bands tend to be quite small as have used these past few years but no longer fit skinny ds at 4 and dd1s is now looking more fitted shall we say. I always have one on them for fear of one doing a runner and poor speech..lol

do tags and bands

DontCallMeBaby · 22/05/2008 18:12

Ooh, good reminder - I need something for DD at Disneyland Paris in a couple of weeks. I was thinking of checking out the 'make your own pet ID' machine in Pets At Home.

jimbotri · 23/05/2008 18:31

The childsafe zip/shoe tags are very good, also the reusable wristbands velcro close so are very adjustable. Here

Wolfgirl · 23/05/2008 21:08

OK, I bought from two places. I liked the wrist bands from GLTC - because they are re-useable and a good decent size. I also bought from the site car25 mentioned, some tags - so I can hook them to belts or shoes.

I remember trying to make DS wear a wrist band when he was younger, but he kept taking it off - so have bought the tags too, just in case!

thanks for all your help ladies. Much appreciated

Nemo, that site is fab, thank you very much. DS has his first full day out trip soon with the rest of reception so am going to order the temporary tattoos. He'd take the bracelet and tags off the scamp but the tags will be good when he's older.

Nemoandthefishes · 24/05/2008 12:12

well I just recieved my order and must say am very impressed. Ds loves his tags, DD1 not particularly interested but have got her holding them up saying mummy phone so that should do. DS has been role playing whole scenarios..pmsl

Also got the bracelts for dd2.

HappyMummyOfOne · 24/05/2008 15:28

Just noticed the dog tags are keyring style rather than neck worn, DS wouldnt be able to get them off his jeans etc so will go for that option. What contact numbers did you put on them, am thinking for school trips - did you put a school contact number?

Nemoandthefishes · 24/05/2008 20:05

I put my mobile and dh mobile on the thinking that even on school trip if someone called me I could call school etc. Plus then if we are out it works for us as a family.

HappyMummyOfOne · 25/05/2008 07:04

Thanks, will order them today.
