Has anyone else had problems returning items bought on the House of Fraser website? I bought a considerable amount of clothing for my holiday and I when I got them, realised that they were cheap 'outlet' branded labels and not the main line products. The dresses arrived in damaged poly bags, all crumpled up. Some had old labels on from obviously having sent them out to someone else before me. Truly horrendous. When I tried the returns portal it wasn't working and was told to try in a few day's time. It's still not working! There's no number to call or email address. I used the Chat Bot and had to go through hoops and several hours of chatting to a bot to get to a human being! who gave me the returns address. The human being advised me to put copies of my order in the parcels and send them back by Royal Mail 24 tracking, which I did and have since been notified that it has arrived there safely. I'll give them 14 days to refund me before I call the credit card company to do a chargeback.
House of Fraser has completely changed from what it used to be. Now it's just a cheap knock off site like J D Sports and the garments are obviously made cheaply using much cheaper fabrics in China. These were expensive knock offs, horrid cheap polyester fabric and definitely not the quality expected from Ralph Lauren. One dress I bought was supposed to be cotton but was definitely 100% polyester and having checked it, there were no fabric composition labels on the dress - which is required by law! There were lots of labels with Chinese writing on though. What a dreadful experience. Never again!
I'm writing this to warn you all. Shop at John Lewis is my advice. Click and Collect next day to Waitrose and free returns, plus far better quality. If I'd known that House of Fraser was now owned by J D Sports I'd never have purchased anything online. Dreadful quality and non existent customer service or care. Mike Ashley couldn't care less! He just wants to rake in your money.
