Diamond like earring for DS without the diamond like price tag, sugestions?

DS got his ear pierced a few months ago and now he's set on a shiny diamond-like stud for it. There's no way I'm getting him a real diamond though - he'll just lose it in a week! He's after something square shaped, ideally and i'm looking for something that gives that diamond look without the price tag. Does anyone know where I can get a good quality stud for around £10? Don't want anything too blingy or cheap looking just something good quality that looks decent. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Moissanite, man made in a lab and tests as a diamond on a diamond tester, that is how "real" it looks. More advanced tests need to be done to prove it is not a diamond. Have a look on Etsy for the earring, have a look on youtube for diamond vs moissanite comparisons.

Thank you, I have heard good things about moissanite jewellery! It’s a bit out of my budget just now, but if he can prove he won’t go and lose a cheaper one, it’s definitely a thought for Christmas! 😅

@BeChicBiscuit I don't know what your budget is, but lots on Etsy if you search square moissanite stud earrings. Plus he would get two as they usually come as a pair. Cost also depends on the material the stone is in, ie silver, titanium or white gold etc.

Start him off with cubic zirconia. Plus you can get screw on backs so no chance of the butterfly back coming off.
