My daughter wants to take hot food for packed lunch, I've never found a food container that properly keeps things sufficiently warm for 4h ish.
Anyone had more success please? Thanks!

We have a couple of these too, they’ve been in daily use for 8 or 9 years now, and keep food piping hot

Don’t get a Sho. They’re lovely to look at and come packaged beautifully but don’t keep the food hot.

i use a Stanley. I’ve tried and tested loads as I walk up mountains and need hot food on the top in winter. Most don’t live up to their advertising.

We have a Sho one and it's excellent. Food keeps either hot or very cold for ages.

My 2 dcs with have SHO ones and they have no complaints about food staying hot.
The thermos ones are smaller and don't hold as much

One thing I do before putting food in is fill with boiling water and then empty before adding the food to warm the flask up.

dumpling123 · 23/04/2025 20:54

what does everyone put in their food flasks? Would love some ideas

dementedpixie · 23/04/2025 21:04

My kids tend to take noodles, pasta, rice dishes

NeverDropYourMooncup · 23/04/2025 21:05

Unsurprisingly, a Thermos brand food flask does the job really, really well.

ScaryM0nster · 23/04/2025 21:05

Pre heat the flask.

and put hot wet food in.

here for food ideas for adults ..😀

My DC have the sho ones.

They usually take leftovers from the night before - mostly pasta as I worry a bit about keeping rice at the correct temperature. They also quite like a jacket potato, chopped up, with baked beans poured on top and a small pot of grated cheese to put on at lunchtime. It sounds revolting to me, but apparently it works, and they are happy 😅

Brilliant thank you all!

Tends to be pasta and meatballs or soup.
