Comfortable but not ugly shoes for large feet

Help, I need shoes for a funeral next week. My feet are big (UK 9, EU 43), on the wide side, but not very wide, and I am prone to plantar fasciitis and dodgy knees. I have been living in trainers (mens) and some Boots from Moshulu, but nothing I have is funeral appropriate. Any suggestions?

Fitflop do a good range of size 9 shoes.

Lots of these are new to me - fab! On the expensive side: Sargasso and Gray and Calla Shoes.

Thighdentitycrisis · 16/04/2025 20:13

Next do a wide range in 43 I think

Thanks but those only go up to a 42 (which is not a 9 as far as I'm concerned) - that's another issue, inconsistent sizing 😠. Also, I couldn't really manage even that much of a heel at the moment (couple of months post knee replacement) I can't do very flat either 😕 Ideally I want trainer-like comfort, but smartish. I'm currently leaning towards loafers...

Crispins are great they are so helpful to

Thighdentitycrisis · 16/04/2025 20:41

I didn’t see that. I filtered all shoes by 9 (43) and they came up. Looks like that brand has the incorrect size 9.

Nexf own brand are true to size though in my experience. I have a similar issue only I need 8 (42) and so often 8 is a 41!

Crocs Sandals (not flip flops ) from Amazon for quicker delivery than the Crocs website. I have loads of pairs in different styles , they are so comfy.

My mum has size 9 feet, she gets a lot of hers from Next online.

Gettingbysomehow · 16/04/2025 21:41

These are Next size 9 they do heels also. Sorry can't post this pic will send it when I figure it out.

alongtimeagoandfaraway · 16/04/2025 21:42

Josef Siebel do size 9. I only have their boots but they are insanely comfortable.

CoastalCalm · 16/04/2025 21:45

Next are no good for me as tend to be narrow fit , I get a lot of my shoes from Simply Be or New Look also Evan’s

jogo69 · 16/04/2025 21:54

Hotter is where I get all mine. I’m exactly the same size 9 43 wide but not very wide. They are super comfy.

iamnotalemon · 16/04/2025 23:49

I’m an 8 but love vionic shoes. So comfortable and not bad looking.

Hi there, I’m glad to have been of help.

the shops I mentioned were just off the top of my head and I wasn’t in a position at the time to do proper links for you.

I use this directory a lot and I buy from companies that cater for my size 10 feet. They do mail order and international delivery but the companies I posted about originally stock most of the brand like Gabor and Remonte. Oh and just to say anything I wore after my knee surgery were from the above shops.
