Distraught cat seeks Kattovit Gastro or shipping advice…

Hoping someone can help with advice on a one off import kind of thing! I think I need to find something like a third party shipping service. My cat appears to only be able to eat one specific kind of cat food manufactured in Germany. All other foods result in litter tray carnage - horrendous diarrhea and bleeding. <a class="break-all" href="//www.zooplus.co.uk/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Zooplus.co.uk seem to be the only UK stockists and they’ve had no stocks for weeks, Zooplus.com have stock but won’t ship to the Uk, and we are running critically low! The company itself do not ship outside Germany, and although I’ve found a few third party shipping companies they all either have awful trustpilot reviews or are designed for companies with massive freight requirements, not an individual frazzled cat mum. I don’t want to have to try other foods when nothing else worked, and it seems awful to have to put him back on steroids when this food works for him. Photo of the ridiculously sensitive furball for the cat tax and thank you for any advice (or if anyone has unwanted Kattovit Gastro pouches please please message me!!)

No specific advice for you OP, but just wanted to pop on and admire his floofy magnificence!
Hopefully there might be a German MNer who could buy it and ship it or someone who can recommend a drop shipping company.

Thank you so much Vegboxwonder! I think I’ve found a company to provide an EU shipping address and forwarding service so I’m just going to have to go for it and hope it works, especially since I’m going to be guessing the package’s dimensions. It’s either that or a road trip to Germany! He’s such a gorgeous boy, he’ll lie in my arms like a baby for cuddles and he’s got the sweetest nature. I just wish the food that worked for him could have been something a bit easier to source!!

I live in Germany and could easily get the Kattovit via Amazon and send it on to you. My only worry is that it might get held up in customs for a while.

Plus I suppose it would only be a stop gap solution until you could find a bulk supplier but I would be happy to do it if it would help in the short term.

P.S. Your cat is very beautiful and most regally floofy!

That’s so incredibly kind of you. I would love to take you up on your offer, but the cost of posting on the amount we would need would be so much, and logistically it’s going to be a lot of aggravation - I could never ask that of someone, especially since it’s looking like the food just isn’t going to be stocked in the UK in future so it’s not just a one off to tide us over. I need to either find a reasonably priced company to handle this for me or work on finding a food that he can tolerate. But I so appreciate you offering. And he says thank you for saying he is beautiful, he very much enjoys compliments!! His brother is even floofier, everything in our house is covered in a layer of cat fur, good thing we love them!

There is a ban on meat and other animal products from the EU at the moment. We are trying to avoid foot and mouth disease spreading (anyone who remembers the last outbreak here will know why).

Here’s a BBC link explaining why. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0qn7jzj3qgo.amp

That’s interesting, thank you for sharing as I wasn’t aware of this. The food in question is chicken based and contains none of the items listed in the article, plus the article confirms the ban does not apply to commercial importing - it cites shops and farms for example being able to carry on as normal. But I guess it may have caused supply issues.
