Warning- Debenhams Online

I recently bought something from Debenhams online store. It didn’t fit so I tried to return it. That’s when I discovered that it was sold by a “partner” seller who I was directed to contact. After much to-ing and fro-ing over several days, the “partner” seller is now suggesting I keep the item for a 50% discount. It doesn’t fit. I don’t want it. I still have no return instructions. There was no paperwork in the original package. Looks like I’m stuck. Just a warning to anyone thinking of buying from Debenhams online!!!

@LadeOde No such luck - they just stopped communicating with me so in the end I figured the best thing to do was to warn others about their scamming ways.

My son recently ordered himself a bottle of aftershave out of his birthday money. Its been over 1 week and he's still not received the aftershave. The tracking information just states "processing". Tonight he's had an email saying "Thankyou for your order", so he's replied to the email to ask for a refund as he's not received the item and it failed to send. Does anyone have any contact info for this website please??

Just popping in to say I also avoid Debenhams purchases having had a bad experience a year or so ago. Bought some coffee cups, didn’t love them when they arrived and packaged up to send back. Looked the selling company up online, found them - a small business in northern England: I found a phone number and phoned a couple of times but it went straight to a voicemail box and my messages were never responded to. I then managed to find instructions for sending goods back and posted off at my own expense, thinking I’d just never buy via the site again.

About three weeks later Royal Mail brought the package right back to me, saying the address I’d sent the package to wasn’t accepting goods. I searched for more info on line, found nothing, but assume the business had been wound up.
Luckily the cups weren’t expensive, and I kept four to use and gave two to DS1. We both now rather like them…but that’s not the point of course!
I’d make a big effort not to buy from any vendors via Debenhams, seems too big a risk.

Its a shame as I saw some shoes i liked recently and they were half price on the debs website, but i couldn't risk it if they didn't fit. I avoid them now, only buy if it's something I know i won't return and too good a deal to turn down.

I've got my eye on some EverAu leather clogs (eg Birkies rip-offs!) on 'Debenhams', and they're a tempting £36, but after reading this, and other, dire reviews of the purchasing experience, I'm just going to walk away. EverAu sell them for almost double that direct, but are listed as the 'partner seller' on Debenhams, so I don't know how that works! In addition to that, I did a search for these same clogs and Oasis and Wallis both came up with the same pair, same discount ... and the exact same typeface and format for the selling page, and lo! they are both part of the Debenhams online group. So, sod that!

I've just found that out for myself, I could have bought the same thing on Amazon. It remains to be seen what the returns response is. sigh
