We had a brabantia giant bin and the lid broke very soon afterwards. My DH did a bit of DIY on it and we put up with it for years, always meaning to replace it as the lid was hyper annoying.

Got a Superhuman one last year - much better!

another vote here, they are brilliant.

Extremely impressed! called the number listed above (which has changed to 08448735848) and after a few simple questions on the model of the bin, a replacement lid is on the way free of charge! now that's service!!

RachelHRD · 16/11/2011 09:59

Echo that Simplehuman bins are better - had ours for over 4 years with no problem - sounds as if Brabantia have a design fault...

NotVeryGrandDesign · 16/11/2011 10:08

Interesting
I HATE my brabantia bin
DH wanted it and I agreed on the proviso he would empty it

Who was I kidding?
grr

Sorry to hear that some of you have had problems with the bin lids. Please do get in touch details here > www.brabantialife.com/customer-service/

Alternatively if you are on Twitter Tweet @brabantialife and if the bin is still under warranty the faulty parts will be replaced FOC ASAP.

Just to let you know - if you think that "Simple Human" bins are better than Brabantia - hereforaday.com are doing a special half price offer (just today).

ooh my bin is less than a year old and the spring on the lid has gone! I was going to pt it in the bin but DP said the bin is good (his department) so I will also ask for a replacement lid - thank you ladies!

redridingwolf · 27/02/2012 16:15

on the phone to brabantia now - no has changed to 0844 8735 848.

my call is first in line

redridingwolf · 27/02/2012 16:20

WOW! A new lid is on its way and should be with me in 7 working days.

I'm not registered with them, my lid is 16 months old. All I had to do was tell them how old it is, where the logo is on the lid, the size & colour of the bin.

I was all geared up for a customer service wrangle. Will have to call someone else for that now. Yay Brabantia (assuming the lid arrives, obviously).

thebestisyettocome · 27/02/2012 16:23

I have been impressed with brabantia in the past and have had replacement lids. When the catch went this time they just sent me the replacement catch and I messed up replacing it. I honestly wanted to cry... I got a replacement bin which was cheaper but if I'm honest it isn't as good as the brabantia.

befuzzled · 27/02/2012 17:36

Mine arrived in a couple of days - bin was bought in 2004! He did try and initially fob me off with a catch but I kept saying well the springs are all funny as well, it doesn't look right and he eventually gave up and sent me a bin lid Grin

This why I luurve MN. Expensive visit to Argos to buy new Brabantia bin cancelled; new part winging it's way free of charge Smile
