Vinted is stressful-am I the only one??

I listed items today for the first time.
Already shocked at the minuscule prices for brand new items, I wanted a wee bit more but went with the crowd (this is not a me thing, ever).
Started getting messages negotiating the already piddly prices.
So piddly, they're less than the postage.

I feel like I've totally had the wrong impression of Vinted all this time! Anyone else experienced this feeling of disappointment and stress? 😆

Why didn't you list them for what you think they're worth?

Then people can pay if they agree with you, or message to offer a price.

I've had offers, I reply and split the difference. More times than not they say yes. Some I wish I'd taken. Yesterday I went through most of my listing and made them £1. I'm moving house, I want less stuff more than more money. Wondering if low interaction on some stuff as too cheap tbh. Lots of people favouriting but don't always equal a purchase which is frustrating.

Yeah I'm so new to it i thought i was doing the right thing, learned, wont make that mistake again!

Just read a post by a user saying the add 10-20% on to what they actually want, I should have done this!

I started on Vinted a year ago, have made just under £900 - I had a LOT of clothes! Still have, need to list more.
I’m very honest about the condition, most of mine was barely worn, took LOTS of photos, and declined offers in the first week of listing anything. No counter offers, just hit the decline offer button.
Give it a few days, list a few things at a time and offer discounts on multiple purchases.
I also refused any requests for using any other posting except for Evri. There’s an Evri drop off point at the top of my road, yards from my home - I made things easier for me. I think I sent around 150 parcels in total last year and not one went missing or was delayed.

Will leave them on for the week and see-my mum had a forced clear out of all our old wardrobes so thought I'd test out Vinted, I've got loads in my own to clear out too.

We donated loads to the charity shop but it's January and I could do with a bit of cash.

The very reason I'm in holiday mode.. I listed some brand new items that I'd failed to return and got some very CF offers. Declined them all and put myself in holiday mode. Can't be arsed with it.

I've put nice, new things on Vinted before for quite a lot of money and I did have to wait a few weeks but I usually end up getting near enough what I asked for. Sometimes patience pays. However, if the item isn't fashionable/excellent condition, then people won't pay much.

I buy from Vinted and have got some bargains. I don't sell however, I found it stressful like you, I don't want to be dealing with loads of comms and " will you take £1 hun" offers. The changes in postage finally did it for me, I want to leave things in my porch for the Postman to collect, it's a 15 miles round trip to a locker or parcel shop. I use Ebay, I can use the postage service I want, I can set my account to no offers and things sell.

Vinted does have piss takers, you just have to get past them and persevere.

I once listed something that was second hand but in great condition and original price £300 but I was selling it for £30 because I just wanted it gone and I STILL had someone try and make an offer of £25!!!! Just fuck off, no be grateful it's £30!!! Really annoying.

To be honest, I just don't respond at all to CFs who want to buy my shoes that cost £300 for £10. It's not worth engaging. Likewise, people that ask a million questions about a £3 T shirt - they never end up buying it. I've found most Vinted people really nice and friendly.

What really annoys me if the seller has not listed things correctly and you raise this, they then ask you to return them but you have to pay for the return postage too.....just to get your initial money back. End up having spent money on nothing and don't have the item you wanted. Oh and the wait for the refund to then materialise. All without any form of any message let alone an apology

Flipping heck! I know especially when it's a real original price, I don't think we are as trusting anymore and just want everything for nothing

I always list for what they're worth and never below £5 as it's not worth my time. I do get low offers but just decline. I've sold over £2000 worth of stuff in the past year.

It can be a bit hit and miss.

I've had some things on there for months...it's all priced pretty low at £1/2

I post at the price I want for the item and ignore any offers less than £4. Costs me more to package and get to the shop to post! Occasionally will accept reasonable offers, especially if it's been listed for a while. Watch out for the people who expect it to be at the post lockers ready to post as soon as they buy and then bombard you with messages as well. I ignore them now.

Just in case you didnt know, you can change the price that you have listed something for if you want to increase or drop. 3 dots top right and edit then save.

That’s rubbish and not my experience at all. And I always find the suggested prices on Vinted are rediculously low (probably because they benefit from a quicker sale). I’ve always gone with what I think is a fair price and have sold loads on Vinted.

I agree. I would rather give an item to a charity shop than get taken advantage of, or save it incase my daughter wants it when she’s older.

I buy from vinted but have realised that for 3 quid or something, it isn't worth listing, responding to people, packaging and tracking to drop off point. Too stressful especially when working full time .

I use Depop or Vestaire Collectif or EBay if I want to sell something new.
