Does anyone offer an intermediary shipping service from the US? If not, WHY NOT??

I don't know what I mean is called specifically but what I mean is this:

Company X sells such and such in the US for a ridiculously cheap price (because of exchange rate presumably) but does not ship internationally.

Is the a company Y that will provide you with a US address to have said such and such shipped to, and then ship it onwards to the UK/elsewhere?

Even if I had to pay £100 for such a service I'd still be saving a substantial amount of money on a couple of things I want need.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I think the problem with this plan would be:

a) it would make CC fraud easy for the customers? perhaps?

b) customs and excise can be a bitch - do the intermediary shippers open the packages and check what they are etc?

c) what about things that are illegal here - e.g. prescription drugs?

www.expatexpress.com/

Haven't used them myself. Do you know anyone in the states who would ship to you?

I may be mistaken but I think a service does exist ,I'm sure someone linked to it a long time ago.

There is another one called www.myus.com

We have used them in the past and they were very efficient and good. We used it for magazines you couldn't get in the UK.
