I just wanted to share my experience of Red Carpet Ready in Lincoln. We booked to go on a Saturday afternoon and it is in a small village on the outskirts of Lincoln. We were given 1hr 30mins to select 5 dresses and try them on. You are given coloured rings to put on them so they are designated to the right person, with other girls trying on at the same time. There are over 3,000 dresses and it seems like a lot of time but the reality is it soon goes fast. They take your school details and can check if anyone has the same dress. I think this puts a lot of pressure on parents to ensure their daughters have their dream dress. 😔
We were allocated a stylist to pick out other dresses to try whilst trying on the 5.
Once we had found a beautiful dress, it did look amazing but had a price ticket of £468 with a 10% discount. We were then given the option of jewelry and a clutch bag and they were £45 each! We decided to go for it but I think if you are thinking you can walk away be prepared for the hard sell! We were going to pay a £95 deposit and get it delivered but this cost £15 extra, so just bit the bullet and stuck it on my credit card, but walked away with the dress! 😰And we had a real cheesy photo of "I said yes to the dress" 😱
The receipt had a strict no-returns policy on it, I suppose so people don't wear it once and bring it back. My advice is to shop around first before going because it's out in the middle of nowhere and there's no other competition around. Accessories can be bought much cheaper elsewhere, look online and in different shops. I hope that helps, if anyone has any questions please let me know! 😃
