I'd like a Maclaren - only better! Any ideas?

Can anyone suggest an alternative before I buy another Maclaren Quest? The brakes and rainhood both broke on my old one, and as they're flimsy I'm sure it will only be a matter of time before the same happens to a replacement. But they are lovely and light, compact and easy to fold. Is there a better stroller on the market sutiable for a toddler?

I have a Jane Energy and have had very few problems with it...

the techno, brakes and hood loads better and it is a stronger buggy all round.

actually I really like my graco citisport plus, very light, easy to steer one handed when toddler decides to walk, huge basket, dd's head isn't too tall for it yet and she's nearly 3.

Ah -a Jane Energy owner. What are the downsides please? Is that raincover ok? Is it really difficult to fold. Seems a viable option but have only ever seen them online.

Agree the Techno is sturdier - but it is also just alround bigger and heavier, and doesn't fit as easily into my car. Citisport? - I think I do really need umbrella fold.

citisport is tiny folded even though it's not umbrella, tis amazing I always thought graco was a waste money but they are surprising good.

Really? Shall google it! Thanks.

How about a silver cross pop? Looks like a maclaren, but much stronger and sturdier, imo.

MadameCh0let · 22/04/2008 18:32

I had a citisport once and it was great. It folded up very easily and it was as narrow as a mclaren, but it was cheaper and had a bigger stronger basket. I'd forgotten about that buggy... i gave it away when I got a double and then I regretted it.

Jane Energy - cons : small shopping holder (not the biggest)

But, haven't had much prob with the folding of the buggy, the only thing is to make sure that the catch to keep the buggy together doesn't get trapped in the folds of the buggy.

Embarrassingly, the raincover sits in its packaging in our downstairs storeroom ... so can't comment on that...

It does, however, fit into the boot of our Panda...

quinny zapp? V upright but v easy to manoevre and steer.

misdee · 22/04/2008 18:50

the new quests have improved braking system.

IMO you cant beat maclaren build quality.

Anyone with a Combi Town Life? Anything else that folds down small?
