Is Ikea the only place to get a decent kingsize bed for under £1000???

Need to replace our broken bed desperately, It regularly collapses under us and is propped up with a pile of wood

We would like a biiig Kingsize - we like our space - and have at least one (rapidly growing) toddler in our bed at any given time.

I quite like solid wooden bed frames - this is ok in Ikea

or this from Ilva

But neither are exactly inspiring... please tell me where i should be looking, pretty please[pleading emoticon]

Cheers.

M&S have good beds and often have promotions on. Or JOhn Lewis?

We have bought beds from Warren Evans. I don't know how much a kingsize would cost but I can recommend the company.

After all our looking we ended up going with Indigo furniture, really lovely stuff and so far fabulous customer service as well, so helpful and lovely.

We got a super king size Purolux (sp?)pocket sprung with sprung divan base (not what you want but they have others)direct from the local factory in Bury, Lancs for a fabulously good price, and 5 years on (with 2 supersized occupants ) it is still as good as new. Try looking at local firms and see what they offer, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Bought ours off Ebay, new, £350, private sale. Lovely bed. We did already have a good matrees though.

Thank you all for your suggestions

Circumstances (i.e. extremely unexpected pregnancy) have meant I have neglected my bed searching today but I will resume and have seen some promising sites so will be more inspired now - thank you very much.

MN is much better than google

Congrats to you.
We got a lovely (well we like it) super king bed from Muji (via house of fraser). Was well well well under £1000, including the mattress. Bought a custom memory foam mattress topper because the mattress was rather hard for me. But all in was still well under £1000.

We have something very similar to this one and we absolutely love it. Dh is 6'3", and I'm big, too, and we often have all 3 LOs piled in with us on a weekend morning. It's brilliant.

And I'm absolutely at the discount they're offering! But OTOH Dreams have a fairly poor customer service record. Still, we had no problems with them.
