DH's parents have some sort of under bed thing that is SO comfy. Plus it means the overall bed size is nice and large so I sleep really well when we stay there. Have no idea what type it is but it was good.

Think that when I used to stay there before DH and I were married, we used to share his single bed. Can't imagine doing that now

codswallop · 09/11/2004 19:54

oh can you ask them where they got it pc?

a friend of mine has one of those 2 plus 1 type beds for each of her girls. That way when people come to stay the girls can share one set and visitors the other. She says it's really comfortable and her girls (6 & 4) love it. I can ask her where she got them from if you want

codswallop · 10/11/2004 08:12

Twigs, can I just check then...that hideaway bed you linked to from M & S, the second bed does sproing up to the same level as the main one? They are naughty, it doesn't show that on the website. So you could use it as a double?
Thanks in anticipation!

codswallop, we've got the plus one bed. My son has it in his room. Very comfortable. The bottom bed just pulls out and is ready to use. We keep it at floor level, it's so much easier.

Twiglett · 10/11/2004 19:03

I have the wooden version but assume metal is similar

The Hideaway bed from M&S springs up (very easily) to make a very comfortable double .. that my aged parents sleep on happily (bigger test than the princess and the bloomin' pea that one)

Both mattresses are fantastically comfortable

We messed up and got the 2'6 rather than the 3' because it would fit into both alcoves (narrower one was only an inch to small to fit a 3' wide bed) however .. I far prefer the 3' because you can comfortably get into bed with a 3 year old without feeling like you're dropping off the end

HTH

Twiglett · 10/11/2004 19:04

3' is a Standard single .. 2'6 is actually quite a bit narrower

fio2 · 10/11/2004 19:06

they do s beds by us for 64.99 and matress is well thick

Twiglett · 10/11/2004 19:07

I think it is stable and comfy enough for a huge DH (although mine is slightly more wippet like)

.. don't you have a store nearby? you could go bounce on it

Twiglett · 10/11/2004 19:09

I haven't seen the metal one in RL .. I am assuming it is the same as wooden ones which do spring up to full bed height

Aero · 10/11/2004 19:21

Am following this with interest as this is something we're after too! Anyone got a cheaper version that they were happy with, or is the general concencus to save up a bit more and get a comfier one?

codswallop · 10/11/2004 19:26

I got the Evesham one for DS (3 yrs) from Next and they were offering 0% finance for 2 years and free delivery.

The 0% finance works out at GBP25 a month or thereabouts.

codswallop · 14/11/2004 14:47
