Anyone drive a Toyota Corolla estate hybrid? Need your views

Hi, wonder if anyone has one of these cars? We're thinking of buying one for the following reasons:

1. Most of our journeys are local and under 10/15 miles.
2. We want a self-charging rather than a plug-in hybrid.
3. We want dogs off rear seats and in the boot! (we foster as well as having our own dog)
4. We need good boot storage for footballs and other match-day stuff (I'm a coach)
5. We have a tall teenager so need plenty of leg-room in the back.

Only thing is I don't know anyone who has one of these, and I don't see any out and about locally. If they're so good for families and the environment, why aren't there more people driving them?
