The Frustration of Bowls in Dishwashers

Bowls used to have rims and would fit standing up in dishwashers - like deep plates. Can only find rimless, near-hemispherical bowls now that can't stack in the dishwasher. Wastes water, energy and time. Any idea which makes of crockery include dishwasher friendly bowls?

You put them in at an angle if they don't stand up. I've never had an issue washing bowls in the dishwasher whatever type they are

I feel your pain, 2 bowls fit where 4 of the old style used to fit. I can get them in but they take up too much space.

Yes, our current bowls take at least three slots each, only fit by leaning on each other and the last one in the row can't stand up.

I’m new to the wonders of the dishwasher as just got one a couple of months ago (although did have one in my childhood home)

We have quite deep bowls (because we are greedy cereal addicts) and I just put them face down on the top rack instead. I guess that wouldn’t work with normal bowls though as they’re shallower

I put the deeper bowls flat on the top rack.

Cornishware works well for our dishwasher. Took ages to find something the right shape!
