We need to sell our Volvo XC90 as it's not ULEZ compliant
It's also a bit small for all 6 of us

Any suggestions?
I think a VW van may be the best option

I don’t get the love of VW vans we have 2 on our fleet and they’re no where near as good as the Renault Trafics but there seems some strange love affair with the transporter.

Family of 6 here including 2 adult sized DS. XC90 all the way for us!

oohmyback · 15/05/2021 22:05

3 kids here and XC90!!

DonGray · 15/05/2021 22:35

@lovelyupnorth we have driven a rental Opal which I think is the same as the Trafic but it was a low spec beaten up number!

@Iamsodonewith2020 do you have a newer model XC90? Ours is old and the rear seat & boot seat legroom is really tight for our teens

We have an old ford galaxy, three teens, a five year old and a toddler.

Iamsodonewith2020 · 15/05/2021 22:39

Yes new XC90

QueeniesCroft · 15/05/2021 22:41

We have three teens and a 9 year old. We have found it's easier all round to have two smaller cars (Peugeot 208 and an Astra) because of the extra flexibility it gives us. For the rare occasions when we all need to go in the same vehicle then we would hire something bigger. This would only really be for long journeys such as holidays.
It's fairly rare that all of us need to be in the same place at the same time except for church, and taking the two cars for that is no problem.

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 15/05/2021 22:59

I have XC90 and it’s nearly 3years old. The R-DESIGN has more room than the XC90 SELEKT.

Opal71 · 15/05/2021 23:05

VW Caddy maxi for us. 3 teens and one younger one

FATEdestiny · 15/05/2021 23:07

We have the Chevrolet Orlando. Two teens plus 11yo and 6yo.

Day to day there are rarely all 6 of us in the car, so the back seats are only occasionally used.

Dauphinois · 15/05/2021 23:09

We have a Chrysler Grand Voyager. It works brilliantly for us.

Titsywoo · 15/05/2021 23:10

I don't have 4 kids but we have a Nissan Elgrand which is a 7-8 seater and it is brilliant!

Imkindreally · 16/05/2021 08:54

Seat Alhambra

DonGray · 16/05/2021 09:23

@QueeniesCroft also contemplating adding a second small car instead

@Imkindreally

Seat Alhambra
I rented one of these and loved it. I have a Mazda bongo camper van which seats 8. 6 comfortably and sleeps 4. Also a polo as prefer a little car unless ferrying dc.
BIoodyStupidJohnson · 16/05/2021 10:17

DB has three kids, they’ve got a Ford S-Max and an old Subaru B9 Tribeca as a second car.

lljkk · 16/05/2021 10:22

Touran: we didn't travel often all together, though.

WyldStallions · 16/05/2021 10:26

Ford S Max. Back seat is small but eldest (19) goes on that row alone and sticks his legs out sideways.

AntonMeyersNo1Fan · 16/05/2021 10:27

We’ve gone through a Ford Galaxy, Renault Espace and are now in a Ford Torneo with 9 seats. Suits us as the older ones now have +1s Shock

HappyAsASandboy · 16/05/2021 10:35

We have an Alhambra for 6 of us. No teens yet, but three adults can fit in the middle row, and the back seats are fine for an adult but a bit harder to get in to! Teens would have no problem in the back row because they'd be able to climb through ok.
