Is this a concern? Please help, hoping to buy from a private seller.

Hi there,

We have found a great van, which has already been partly converted to a camper, bulk of the work has been done. Anyway we would be buying from a private seller. I've just paid for more comprehensive checks. All good except it says it has had 3 registered owners - last registered owner was 2015. However, the seller said he bought it last year March 2020 and did it up during lockdown. Its Mot'd, insured etc...so he has to be the registered owner to do this, right?

Update - I'm going to ask for proof that he's the registered owner today. I'll ask for documents.

No such thing as a registered owner. The V5C gives you the registered keeper but that’s just the person responsible for taxing and a point of service for motoring offences etc. If you want proof of ownership you will need to see the receipt from when he purchased the vehicle.
