Toyota Verso- do 3 childseats fit across the middle row?

Hi everyone,

We need to replace our car which has just given up (not ideal timing in lockdown!) and would like the one we buy (used) to fit 3 childseats across the middle row. Our budget is limited so we have had to rule out Ford Galaxy, Seat Alhambra etc. I also may prefer driving a slightly smaller 7-seater than bigger ones. We are looking at a 7 seat Toyota Verso (2017 model) but some retailers seem confident that they could take 3 car seats across, while others are very sceptical. Does anyone have a Toyota Verso (2017 type of model) and fit 3 childseats across the middle row? We know that the middle one would need belting in rather than isofix but we are happy with that in itself.

(We’d want it to fit childseats that will fit all ages from baby to 12 as we hope the new car will see us through a good number of years).

Thanks so much for any help!

Oh I’ve never even been in a verso but they are a lovely car. You could google it and see Is the middle set a full seat because of it is then 3 across should fit. I have a Ford smax, have you ruled that out also? It’s a great car, my last one was on its lasts legs and I got a newer one during the week, I really wouldn’t have anything else after having it.

Hurray the smax fan club :)

I'm on my 3rd. Kids are long out of car seats and I'd happily drive this one until it falls apart around me.

I used to have a Verso, but can't advise about 3 car seats. Just wanted to say great choice of car though, if you do find out that the car seats fit.

Mine was great to drive and we never had any trouble with it at all.

@Kerberos! Yes! It’s a great car and it’s not the worst looking 7 seater out there. I got the 2.0 diesel titanium one and its quick enough I must say!😁

Yes mine's the same model. It's weirdly quick.

@Princessbanana @Kerberos Ah thanks so much - yes I loved the look of the S-Max but sadly it’s a bit over our budget at the moment (unless we find an incredible deal). It does look amazing though!

@TambourineW that’s really reassuring to know - thank you! Reliability is top of our list as we are hoping the car will last us a good number of years so that’s really good to hear

I have a verso and comfortably fit 3 britax evolvas along the backseat and prior to that i had 2 evolvas and a baby seat.

NorthLondonMummyE · 15/02/2021 19:08

@smilingthroughgrittedteeth oh amazing, thank you so much! Just to check, the one we are hoping to buy is a 2017 model (7 seater). Is that the same model as yours? The measurements we’ve been given of the seat widths are narrower than the width measurement given for the Evolva, but I guess maybe that’s the Evolva’s width at the top. Thank you so much again for your help!

Yes mine is 2017.

The evolva is a really wide seat so id imagine most other seats will fit fine. Its a great car, really economical and reliable.

We had a 2008 verso for 10 years with 3 carseats just fine. Very reliable car, it's 13 years old now and I still see it driving about town with its new owner.

@smilingthroughgrittedteeth and @xyzandabc, Thank you both so much! This is so good to hear- it sounds like we’ve finally found a car that does what we need and is within our budget. Thank you so very much for your help! So appreciated
