DD is desperate for a Wii for Christmas this year and tells me that her Nintendo DS games will work on it too - is that right?

No, not DS games. Gamecube games work on the Wii though.

Ah, thank you serenity, I might've known it would all be a ploy

I am sure there is some connection. There was talk of using the ds as a controller.

this is on wikipedia

"The Wii system supports wireless connectivity with the Nintendo DS without any additional accessories.[17] The connectivity allows the player to use the Nintendo DS microphone and touchscreen as inputs for Wii games. The first example Nintendo has given of a game using Nintendo DS-Wii connectivity is that of Pokémon Battle Revolution. Players with either Pokémon Diamond or Pearl are able to play battles using their Nintendo DS as a controller.[60] It has also been announced that the Nintendo DS will be able to play game demos downloaded from the console, which they would receive from Nintendo, similar to a DS Download Station.[61] The console is also able to expand Nintendo DS games.[60]"

Ah maybe thats what she was talking about - she seemed to think there was a slot actually on the Wii to put DS games into so that they could be played on the TV.

The wireless thingy from wikipedia sounds more like it though!
