Sainsbury's delivery only gives me items that will go out in 3 days

Is this happening to anyone else? I get my shopping delivered every Friday, and I buy seven types of meat per week (one for each evening meal). Recently, the items they've been giving me have all got really short use by dates - even to the point that all 7 of those meat items have been dated to go off by the Monday. This week they've all gone off by Sunday - today. I'm thinking of complaining, wondered if it's happening to anyone else.

See if you can move to Saturday delivery slots. I had Friday for a while and the problem was much worse, its now only occasional.

Do they give you any indication of sell by date when you're buying them? E.g Tesco will say 3+ days on their fresh products. Tbh, I'd never expect fresh meat with a guaranteed 7 day sell by date

Thank you, will give it a go

I left Sainsbury's due to their short dates. I complained a few times and they'd give vouchers, but I just wanted food in date and got fed up. So I stopped using them.

Could you freeze the meat as soon as it’s delivered, then just defrost one day’s worth at a time to cook it?

I wouldn't expect a week but not had that problem with meat. I did get veg from them last week - one with a same day use by date and another with the following day which I was annoyed with. Took me over an hour and 4 calls to get through to them to get a refund too.

This week I ordered no veg and will get from the greengrocers. I agree with you that it's very poor.

Agree. Getting fed up with Sainsbury's.
