I've got one for dd4's christmas present. I'll go and dig it out from it's hidey hole and let you know.

Skyler · 18/10/2007 11:27

Thank you!!!

yes! drives me mad - i get DD1 to keep pressing it again and again till it realises it's there. don't know about you but i expected it to do more than it does but grandma bought it so i can't really say it's crap and DD1 loves it.

Skyler · 18/10/2007 11:32

I agree, it doesn't do as much as I expected and the blanket thing has already annoyed me and it is still in the box. It doesn't react when I take the blanket away either

I think there is a light sensor under the velcro on his hand. Mine did the same as yours until I covered the velcro properly. (Hope that makes sense)

theslownorris · 18/10/2007 11:34

I haven't taken mine out of the box yet, but does it have a switch somewhere? I know sometimes toys have demo mode and then can be switched for proper play.

Skyler · 18/10/2007 11:38

Mine is still in the box (perhaps to be returned ). I can set it off by pressing his foot. I have totally wrapped the hand in the blanket and it still asks for it.

Oooh look at the word toys..

Skyler · 18/10/2007 11:39

Eh. It has gone now??? It was a pop up ad.

Are they any good..just seen they are reduced in argos so thinking of getting one for dd2s present

Skyler · 18/10/2007 11:45

IMO £35 is too much if it can't recognise the blooming blanket. I think mine will be going back and I might get the squishy one instead. What is it reduced to?

OP posts:
Skyler · 18/10/2007 11:46

I did a thread asking about them and they were deemed good. Wa sin products. Sorry can't search/link now, have to get dd1 from nursery

OP posts:
Skyler · 18/10/2007 11:46

Now nursery is a pop up too?

Sunshinecursedmummy · 18/10/2007 11:48

Yes sometimes it does. If you squeeze the hand hard it recognises the blanket is there. I haven't seen it play hide and seek, but it does dance and it also pretends to be Makka Pakka or the Pinky Ponk and asks who it is. TBH, as I think I posted before, TMX Elmo is a much better, similar toy, but DS absolutely loves it.

omeN666 · 18/10/2007 11:49

It is £26 now.

Sunshinecursedmummy · 18/10/2007 11:52

Iggle Piggle that is.

my2weegirls · 18/10/2007 11:53

i don't think it's worth 35quid so if you can get it reduced it's woth it.

ps if you can work out how to do the hide and seek please let me know!

Skyler · 18/10/2007 13:04

£26 is a better price, but annoyance factor is high I think, and I like ITNG.

OP posts:
Sunshinecursedmummy · 18/10/2007 13:12

I don't find it annoying as it's fairly quiet and DS absolutely loves it.

Skyler · 18/10/2007 13:42

I have decided I am bad tempered today. I am going to ask DH and try again tomorrow

We have decided that dd2 will love it and so have ordered the Argos one for collection at the cheaper price and I am returning this Tesco one tomorrow. I feel happier paying £26 for it. Thanks for the Argos price heads up Nemo.

Just in case anyone ever does a search , I thought I would update that after collecting my cheaper Iggle Piggle from Argos, I opened the packaging at the bottom and read the instructions. They say the toy is in DEMO mode in the packaging, and needs to be switched to ON for the full effect. I feel happier now

Skyler · 19/10/2007 21:34

Exactly as theslownorris said!!!
