Has anyone ever sent anything back to DUALIT's service centre ?

We have had a Dualit jug kettle for 18-24m approx. Its developed a major leak overnight from around the switch area.

I emailed Dualit who said to return it to their service centre where they can inspect it (as not all kettles are repairable) and advise futher as to what can be done.

Is it worth returning it to them (its heavy and will cost a fair bit to post) with no guarantee of them fixing it, especially as we don't have receipt and can't remember exactly how old it is?

Hey up Betty! Was it expensive? I think you'll have to write it off, what will you use for a cuppa whilst it's sent away.

Think I'll start another meet up thread today, so keep a look out.

Has honor had her baby do we know?

TheBlonde · 02/10/2007 08:11

We had one £55 quid I think

Ours did the same after 2 years
No longer guaranteed so I binned it

Bought a 20 quid morphy richards this time

Oh no TheBlonde -did yours leak from the same place? Can't believe that a £55 kettle lasts just 2 years . I can't even remember whether the guarantee was for 1 or 2 years?

Furball! hello me dear! meet up sounds like a good idea.

I haven't heard or seen anything about honor -are we around due date then?

Yep the same thing - major leakage

Guarantee only 1 year

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 02/10/2007 10:02

oh cr@p.

I was hoping that maybe if I returned it, as they suggested, and put something in the covering letter about "expecting a product of Dualit's quality and reputation" (usual waffle...) to last more than 2 years etc they might send me a new one.

Sounds unlikely though.
