Most reliable and most roomy 3rd row 7 seater cars?

Looking to upgrade my car, it's a small SUV. I want 3 full size seats in the middle row to accommodate car seats and the option of an extra two would be nice, rather than only upgrading to a slightly bigger SUV (my current car has a useless half seat in the middle).

Anyone have any recommendations? The 2 rear most seats would be potentially used by adults so maybe that's asking a bit too much space wise? As I've read a lot of these cars would only fit kids in those seats.

The boot space isn't really an issue as majority of the time the 2 seats would be down and I also have a roof box if needed.

We have a VW Sharan, 4 DCs, a dog, and my DH is 6ft 6...so space is a huge issue.

Although my 6ft 3 and 5ft 11 children would moan about sitting in the third row, they can do it, although probably not for long journeys, but it's a brilliant car - really reliable and the sliding doors are really helpful.

Once my younger two start pushing 6ft, we'll probably have to get something more like a bus, but for the moment, it suits us fine!

BMW 2 series grand tourer

I had one of those (Gran Tourer) and the third row seats are definitely not full sized. My 10 year old would now struggle in them over anything other than short distance

You’d also struggle to get 3 adults in the middle row. The middle seat of the second row isn’t a full sized seat.

I loved it though...

For 3 full size middle seats and decent boot ones, ford galaxy or VW sharan every time. Nothing else comes close (seat Alhambra is the same as the VW just a different badge)
